The cast iron works well in parts, but does not do well on electric stoves. The heating doesn’t spread well enough. I’m sure this is great on a flame stove, but would not recommend for electric.

So Happy It Can Take The Heat
I bought this for my husband after he decided he wanted a cast iron grill/griddle to use on our grill outside. I’m so glad it can actually hold up to the heat and he LOVES it.

Great for indoor grilling
This griddle is great for an indoor bbq. It cooks food evenly, and steaks come out brilliantly. Melting grated cheese on there is awesome. The only issue we had is re-seasoning. Instructions say to put it in the oven at a high temperature. It only fits diagonally and so all oil run to one end. We have a stardard 60 cm oven.

How to season cast iron griddle for grill
Before storing your stove top griddle pan, it's important to season it. This will keep it rust-free and in good condition. It will also help keep the non-stick surface effective, here's how:
Apply a thin layer of oil with a paper towel.
Spread this evenly across the cast iron reversible grill griddle on both sides.
Bake the cooktop griddle plate in the oven for approximately an hour at 375°F.
If you season cast iron grills by using this simple method regularly, they'll last a lifetime! Some families even pass these pans down generation after generation.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
You can use various types of oils for cooking on your griddle, depending on the temperature you're using. Olive oil or butter will work well with low to medium heat, while higher temperatures require oils with a higher smoke point, for example, coconut, avocado, grapeseed, or groundnut oil.
It's also important to know how to season stovetop griddle pans and which oil to use for that. Use mild vegetable oil on the grill pan. Cast iron cookware is prone to rust when not seasoned regularly. This requires minimal effort and will keep your stove top grill plate in tip-top shape for many years!
Yes, you can cook with butter on a cast iron flat griddle, but only if you stick to low or medium heat. Butter burns easily when used on high heat. This will affect the flavor of your food, and not in a good way! When cooking over high heat, your best option is to use vegetable oil with a neutral flavor.
Yes, you can. The reversible griddle can withstand very high temperatures, so it can be used on the fire. You may wonder if you can use the cast iron griddle for gas? Grill to your heart's content! Although a griddle is a cast-iron, rectangular skillet, but there are some major differences when it comes to skillet vs griddle. You can use a skillet or griddle pan for cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but they're not the same.
What is a griddle pan?
A frying griddle is a large, cast-iron pan used for cooking any food that requires frying, sauteing, searing, or braising. The main difference between griddle and skillet cooking is the size and shape.
Cast-iron griddle cooking is becoming more and more popular because of how much food you can make in one go, how great it tastes, and because you can use a griddle both indoors on the stovetop and outdoors on an open fire.
What is a skillet?
A skillet is usually round in shape and made with cast-iron or other durable materials. You can use some skillets indoors on a stovetop or outdoors on a fire. If the pan's handle is not fire-resistant or removable, you can only use it on a stovetop.

Griddle vs. skillet: the verdict
If you have to decide between getting a skillet or griddle for your kitchen, your choice will be determined by how many people you cook for, how much storage space you have, and what you enjoy cooking.
Large families love cast-iron griddle cooking! You can cook everything in one go so everyone can eat together without the food getting cold. Griddle pans are larger than skillets, so make sure you have enough storage space.
If you are cooking outdoors over an open fire, your best choice is the griddle. For smaller meals or fewer people, choose a cast-iron skillet; griddle pans are just too big.
Although a griddle, grill, and skillet are all used for cooking, the difference between grill and griddle cooking is huge. And skillets are even more different.
What is a griddle?
A griddle grill is a large, flat, usually rectangular cooking surface. A grill and griddle are both traditionally made with cast-iron and can withstand high heat. The difference is that a griddle is flat, and a grill is ridged.
You may wonder, "what is a griddle used for that a grill can't do?" You can use a bbq griddle plate for cooking grilled meat, seafood, veggies and eggs, hashbrowns, and pancakes, which is not possible with a grill because it is ridged.
Grill vs. griddle
A griddle grill is a ridged version of the griddle grill. It is also rectangular and made of cast-iron but has a different surface to the griddle plate. A grill griddle is best suited for BBQ meats, seafood, and vegetables.
The ridged surface of grill griddles makes them perfect for high-heat cooking and gives your meat and veggies that lovely seared look and taste. They're usually large and often used outdoors over open fires as a BBQ griddle plate.
What about a skillet?
While the griddle and grill are usually rectangular, a skillet is a frying pan typically round. Cast-iron skillets can also withstand high heat but have a smaller surface than a griddle plate or the grill plate.
With the Uno Casa Griddle, you won't have to choose between grill griddles or ordinary griddles - you'll have the best of both worlds. One side of the griddle grill is ridged, and the other is smooth.
